==Funções Monótonas==
Uma função $f:D_f\subseteq \mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ diz-se monótona (em sentido lato) se
$$\mbox{Quaisquer que sejam } x,y \in D_f, \ x < y \Rightarrow \left \{\begin{array}{l}
f(x) \le f(y) \mbox{ ($f$ diz-se monótona crescente) }\\
\\
f(x) \ge f(y) \mbox{ ($f$ diz-se monótona decrescente) }
\end{array}
\right.$$
Uma função $f:D_f\subseteq \mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ diz-se estritamente monótona  se
$$\mbox{Quaisquer que sejam } x,y \in D_f, \ x < y \Rightarrow \left \{\begin{array}{l}
f(x) < f(y) \mbox{ ($f$ diz-se estritamente crescente) }\\
\\
f(x) > f(y) \mbox{ ($f$ diz-se estritamente decrescente) }
\end{array}
\right.$$
